Hello there! Sorry for the pause in blogging. Life's been a little crazy busy, so I haven't had much time for stamping. This week it's Joanne's turn to set the Three Amigas Weekly Challenge. She chose this Martha magazine cover. You can choose anything in this photo to inspire your picture. I chose the colors. I think I'll make another card tomorrow that uses another inspiration that I received from this. Please play along and either post here with a link or on Splitcoaststampers with TAWC in the key word.
This card uses the NEW Manhattan Flower folder from Stampin Up! I used a piece of vellum cardstock for this piece. (Vellum cardstock is thicker than regular vellum, and much easier to work with IMHO.) After running it through the Big Shot, I cut along the top edge of the roses and then used my sponge daubers to apply Regal Rose behind both flowers and then a bit of Rose Red on some of the areas for shading. The vellum is adhered to the white cardstock with SNAIL hiding behind the inked areas. I really like the look of it! The sentiment is a new one, found in the upcoming Spring Mini Catalog. It's called Oval All. I colored it in with Rose Red, Regal Rose, Always Artichoke and Old Olive markers on Whisper White cardstock. After stamping it, I punched it out with my large oval punch. The scalloped oval behind it was made with my Oval All stamp set and the new scalloped oval punch from the mini catalog. After stamping and punching it out, I used my white gel pen inside the dots for a fun effect. The oval is popped up on dimensionals. See that beautiful ribbon on the bottom? That's the new white organza from Stampin' Up! It's absolutely gorgeous. Very soft and easy to work with.
Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station. I'll try to post again tomorrow!
Blessings,
Julie
