Wedding Sweets for Everyday Thanks

And now for a quick ascent from the swap mines of convention. Yes, I need daylight, too.

This stamp set is one of my new fav's. I totally love the versatility of this set! There is no way that this set is limited to wedding cards, although it is very elegant. I used my Real Red and Old Olive markers on the flower spray and the words. The Thank You is framed with a retired Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware oval. A bit of red gingham finishes off this simple and fun card.

Now, back to the swap mines. I have a few to do yet. Might have to turn on my Netflix movie tonight to help me finish them up! :-) Sounds like a chick flick night to me!

Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station once again!

Blessings,
Julie

Which card should I use as a swap?

I'm still busy getting ready for convention. I am SO EXCITED!!! But first, I need your opinion. This first card in Blush Blossom and Chocolate Chip is a card that we made at the last two workshops. I really like the softness of the colors, but it did require some extra sponging around the corners.

This card is one that I made for my MIL's birthday invitations. This blue is showing up much brighter than in real life, but I think you get the picture. Both are made with my new SU! texturz plate and my new stamp set Wedding Sweet. Isn't it gorgeous??? I had to order this set because I knew that it wouldn't be limited to just weddings.

Ok, here's your chance. I've put up a poll on the right so that you can help me decide which card a should make a ton of for swaps at convention. I'm having such a hard time deciding between the two. So please vote by 8/3 so that I don't have to choose myself. ;-)

Both card use the new Texturz Plate from Stampin' Up! The layered sentiment is the new Modern Label Punch and the Movers and Shapers XL Die Modern Label. Now isn't that Big Shot sweet?!

Thanks friends! And thanks again for stopping by the Stamping Station.

Blessings,
Julie

Finally!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. Life happens, you go camping, you get swaps ready for convention, you prepare and give workshops, you get more swaps ready for convention...oh, and did I mention making swaps for convention? :-)
This is the card that my wonderful boys made for my DH for Father's Day. Each boy picked a color and I picked the stars because I wanted to try out the star shape on my Movers & Shapers XL Big Shot Die. The older two punched out the large and small stars while the youngest turned the handle on the Big Shot. After gluing it all together, my 6 yr old Zach wanted to draw gold lines all over the card. I thought it was supposed to make it look like a galaxy, but he said that it was just to make it shiny. ;-D
And this is the card that I made my DH for his birthday last week. I had to throw it together really quick because we were preparing to go camping. I took these leftover cardstock pieces from a workshop project and put this together. I think I actually like this better than the original project, but I felt bad that my DH got a quickie card instead of one that took a lot of time. Oh well....life happens. The colors are Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Mellow Moss, and Very Vanilla. The frame around the cupcake was made with the strings on the balloon.
It's just killing me to not show you what I'm making for swaps! I really wish that I could show them to you now. I'll try to get some scheduled to post while I'm there. Oh, the wait! In the meantime, I need to get more swaps done.
Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station!

Blessings,
Julie

Curry Razzle Dazzles

Here's my first card using my new Razzle Dazzle stamp set. We'll be making this card at Friday night's workshop. I really liked the simplicity of this DSP from the Razzleberry Lemonade pack, so tried to reflect that in the simplicity of the design. I used the Rock 'n Roll technique on the main image and used my Soft Suede Marker to highlight some of the edges of leaves in the center of the image. After stamping it onto Shimmery White (a MUST have!), I sponged around the edges to create a softer look and dragged the edges on the Soft Suede ink pad. The edges of the DSP are also sponged with Curry.
And here is the inside of the card. After stamping both images, I sponged the edges with Curry and dragged the edges on the Soft Suede ink pad.
Hope you like it! And I hope to see you here again soon.

Best Wishes

I had the best of intentions to stamp with my new goodies last night, but a fibro crash got the better of me. So sorry about that. In place of that, here is a project that we made at the last two workshops. It's a total CASE of this card. Sometimes you just don't need to recreate the wheel, so you copy it instead. I loved this one so much, that virtually nothing needed to be changed except the length of the panels. You can't see it, but we used the Damask SU! Texturz Plate on the background white. I'm truly going to miss this Raspberry Tart DSP, but I'm sure that I'll fall in love with another DSP from SU! How could I not??? There are so many beautiful papers!
So now that the new Idea Book & Catalogs are out, please let me know if you'd like a copy. I'm having a sale on them during July...buy it for $5. If I need to mail it to you because of distance, It will be an additional $5 for Priority Mail. Email me your request and we'll get that wonderful new catalog out to you! :-D

Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station.

Jumping Up and Down

Yahoo! My order of new catalog purchases is out for delivery! Oh yes! Brown is coming to my house today. Hurray! Do I stalk the truck? If I can...I do! :-D I've been known to see my delivery person stopped on the side of the road and I'll pull up to "save them the trip down our narrow drive." Yeah...that's it...just so save them a trip...not because I'm too impatient to see my new goodies or anything. Right! Like anyone's going to believe that story. I'll try to post later with some new pics of my goodies. I can't wait to try out the new Finial Press Folder for the Big Shot. That might just be on the first project! Until then....thanks for visiting...and I'll be looking out my window and listening for that beautiful rumble of the UPS truck....

Blessings,
Julie

Saying My Goodbyes

No, I'm not quitting and going away. Yes, it's time to say goodbye to some of my favorite stamp sets. I had taken these pics a few days ago, but had camera trouble. Wish I could have uploaded and posted these earlier. I'll try to make up for it in the next couple of days. This first card is a CASE of this card. We made this at the last two workshops. I really liked the card, so didn't change much. See that cute window in the card? That was made by my new Movers & Shapers Die. I love this thing! You can move the curly label almost anywhere on the front of the card - even the center where a regular punch won't reach. And in the new catalog, there are 4 more shapes for the Movers and Shapers Die that coordinate with the fabulous SU! punches.
This next card is also a CASE of this card. I had to change the color to Pink Pirouette since we had to say goodbye to that color too. We used the SU! Damask Texturz Plate for the pink cardstock.

And a roll on the Baroque wheel on the inside finishes it off. You can see the texture on the pink here. I cut the white for the inside smaller so that when the card is closed, you see pink through the eyelet border on the front.

Here's another card that was inspired by someone else. This did morph into "my own" card, but I was glad for the inspiration. Here's the original idea. As you can see, the colors and a bit of the layout was changed. I'm going to be keeping this stamp set. It's just too easy to use.

See how easy it is to make an elegant card with it? And we decorated the inside also.

Well, that's all I have for this post. I hope you'll come back again and visit the Stamping Station. Let me know what you've been able to create with these beautiful stamp sets. I'd love to see your creations.

Blessings,
Julie
