More New Shtuff :-)
I wanted to try out this new Flirtatious DP. Isn't it pretty? And the Pumpkin Pie doily is also from the same set of DP. For this fun card, All I had to do was stamp and punch the sentiment, punch the frame of the sentiment, and then add the ribbon. How easy is that?!
And this little tag is made with the new frames die that will be available in the Holiday Mini Catalog. It's supposed to be for the windows of an advent calendar, but I can see that I'm going to have a lot of fun using it for other projects! the cute balloon is from the Up, Up & Away stamp set.
And the blues are new In Colors. I really like them, especially paired with Pumpkin Pie. I think it's a very lively combo. I haven't gotten around to buying the plain white Baker's Twine yet, so I had to use crochet thread. I think it worked ok, but I'd prefer the Baker's Twine.
So, what other uses can you think of for the fun frames on this die? I'm intending to use it for scrapbooking and cardmaking, but what other uses can we come up with? I'd love to hear your ideas!

Delicate Doilies
Look! I was able to play with my new stuff! It's about time! Yes, it took me awhile, but late is better than nothing. Delicate Doilies is a new stamp set from the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. The colors are based on a color challenge from Stampin' Addicts SACC105. I did forget to add the Crumb Cake color, so I'm going to have to try again. And now, looking at it on the computer, I should have added a touch more Early Espresso to tie it in better. Oh well. Just pretend like there's more on there, k? Oh, and the layout is for SASC102 from Stampin' Addicts. I kept the background plain white because of the busy-ness of the stamp set and colors. All right. Back to work. I have to clean the tent trailer. We just returned from camping and it was muddy and wet!

Bring on the Cake With Pompom Trim
Isn't this a fun card?! It's a combo of two cards that I found online. I put the ideas together from this card and this card. I love this birthday stamp set. It's so versatile! Man, woman, child ... stamps that are appropriate for all of them! The cake is stamped in Pacific Point and colored in with Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive. I also loved the idea of making balloons out of circle punches. White Gel Pen was used for the shinies on the balloons and the strings were drawn on with my Pacific Point Stampin' Write marker. The Designer Paper is from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. After gluing on the balloons and DP and drawing the strings, the entire piece was run through the Big Shot with the SU! Lattice embossing folder. I really love that quilted look.
Sale-A-Bration is almost over, people, so quick, make your purchase before you miss out on all of the lovely free items! You have a week left. And Bring on the Cake is from the Occasions Mini Catalog, so it's only available through the end of April.
Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station once again. I'd love to hear from you.

Teenage Boy Birthday Cards Are Not Easy!
My nephew's 14th birthday was this past week. And if you know teenage boys, cards for them are not easy to come up with! But I have a new stamp set in my arsenal ... Bring On The Cake! It's in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Both of these images are from that set. I spritzed the background with my Log Cabin Smooch Spritz (which I like to call Lincoln Log Spritz) and then I was trying to figure out how to dress it up a little when I thought of using the ribbon punch on Not Quite Navy and layering it with the Old Olive. The other color used is Cajun Craze. Yes, it's also difficult to come up with a color combo for a teenage boy, but I think I succeeded here. In fact, I'm thinking that I'll have to use this combo again. I like the way the Cajun Craze pops the NQN and Olive.
Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station once again. I'm going to try to post for the next couple of days, but there might be some silence. The hard drive on my new laptop is dying and HP is sending me a new one to install. Unfortunately that means having to reload all of my programs. Grrrr..... At least it was still under warranty!

Julie
