Classy!

Today I played along with the Splitcoast- stampers color challenge. My Classy and Fabulous stamp set hadn't been used for too long, so I figured there was some way to use it for these colors. I think I really like this gal in Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, and Basic Black! I made my designer paper piece with the flourish from Charming, adding it as a background for the sentiment and upper corner. The image was stamped in StazOn Black on SU! watercolor paper and then colored with reinkers and an aquapainter. I used my black marker to choose part of the words from the Coco Channel quote, sponged a bit of Eggplant lightly around it and stamped the flourish off twice before stamping it over the words. TAWC Demented Cards

Hey there, fellow stampers! This is Sharon's week to set the challenge for the three amigas. She's a little demented, uh...I mean...she chose for us to make demented cards. (Sharon, you know I love you, right? :-D) I had the hardest time coming up with anything. Demented can mean sick or funny, so I chose the funny...that is, if you can call this funny. Underneath the square, the "no" is actually "now" on the stamp. I masked it with scotch tape before stamping, so that it would say no, then wrote in the words next to it with my Basic Black Stampin' Journaler. The gal in the chair is from Classy and Fabulous, the remote control is the vase in the Scene from a Garden stamp set from the new Mini Catalog coming out on April 1st. I just did a bit of writing on the vase so that it would look like a remote. The mug of beer is from Cheers To You. The checklist is also from a set from the upcoming Mini Catalog; the name of the set is And Many Mower. A very good set for masculine cards; it even includes a mower. :-D So there's my demented card. Tonight's Workshop

Tonight's another workshop. I do love workshops because there are so many fun ideas to share. My customers mostly like to do Totally Hands On workshops, so these are examples of a 5 minute card and a 10 minute card. It's all in the layers and the tools. This first card is a CASE from Diane Noble, who CASEd her upline. (Copy And Steal Everything.) I loved it so much that I had to use the idea. And who doesn't need a 5 minute card once in awhile?
This second card is just a bit more work. The back Barely Banana panel was run through the SU! Flourish texture plate and then the side punched with the new SU! eyelet punch. The girl and dog were stamped in StazOn Black and then colored with markers. The dog is sitting on a round tab punch and he was punched out with the 3/4" circle punch. Add a bit of bling (Fire Rhinestones) and the tab is no longer just a tab, but a decoration on the card. A bit of Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon finishes off the project.
So...there are some ideas for you and alternatives to the square on the square layout. A few little pieces of Designer Paper and some layers and you have a beautiful card.

Classy & Fabulous

I''m testing out another new stamp set from the new Idea Book & Catalog. Wow, was this fun! I'll be going to a meeting at my upline's house tomorrow night and needed a swap card, so here's what I did. I used the SC216 layout from SCS and the WT206 for today, which was to use stripes. I chose the stripes sheet and the flourish sheet from my new Parisian Breeze Specialty Paper. Aren't those colors wonderful? After stamping the girl in StazOn Black on SU's Shimmery White cardstock, I used Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Ink Pads, and Blender Pens to color the girl and the chair. I stamped the dog and the shopping bags in StazOn Black, colored them with my blender pens, punched them out and attached. I used a very thin strip of Shimmery White as the baseboard of the room that she's in. I thought the striped DP made for a great wallpaper in her house.
Supplies: 1/2", 3/4", 1" circle punches, Round Tab Punch, Coluzzle, Big Shot, Scallops #2 Bigz Die, Cropadile, Vintage Brads.
