You Crack Me Up!

What can you do with Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, and Kiwi Kiss? Make an Easter card! This is a stamp set that is new to me, but not to the catalog. Isn't that little chick cute??? This stamp set is called A Good Egg and I'm really loving it. I stamped the chick and egg in Basic Black (big mistake - should have used StazOn for the watercoloring) and cut them out after coloring them with ink from the lids and my Aquapainter.
The white background behind the chick and egg is stippled. Stippled? Take a stipple brush, ink it on your stamp pad, then dab the bristles on your cardstock. I stippled with all three colors so that it would have an interesting texture. The smaller Kiwi Kiss cardstock was run through my Big Shot with my Priceless dry embossing template. Yup! Use the template, texture mat and pad, one cutting mat and the bread board.
Now, don't forget the glitter! For the easiest application, use the 2-Way Glue Pen and a Powder Pal tray. Doesn't this look great with the glitter? I think it really finished off the design.
Supplies: Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum cardstocks, Bella Rose DP. A Good Egg stamp set. Priceless dry emboss template, Big Shot, Aquapainter, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Stipple Brush, Large and Small Oval Punches, 2-Way Glue Pen, Powder Pal Tray.

Embossing With Classic Ink - Another TAWC and Today's Technique Challenge
So what's black and white and red all over? The Three Amigas Weekly Challenge! Yes, this is my second entry for the challenge. I'm just having so much fun with it. Check out our TAWC Gallery. I decided to combine today's Technique Challenge at Splitcoast with our TAWC to see what I could come up with. The Technique is to cut something out: design from DP, a stamped image, a border... so I thought of stamping a border in black on red and then that's as far as my idea went. Once I figured out that this border was for the sides, the card fell together in a few minutes. I just love it when that happens! So try this method of embossing: ink your stamp in VersaMark, then, without stamping on your paper, ink it again in your color (here it's black). Sprinkle the stamped image with Clear Embossing Powder and heat. Cool, huh? No more messy Craft/Pigment inks necessary! Love it. A lot easier to clean up, too! The black paper has the leaves from Refuge and Strength clear embossed and the leaves are also clear embossed in the corners of the focal image. Add a little dotting for interest and it's finished.Supplies: Beautiful Borders & Refuge and Strength stamp sets. Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Ski Slope DP (retired). Basic Black, Real Red, VersaMark inks. Clear EP, Black Journaler.

Three Amigas Black, White and Red
This week is Joanne's (aka sleepy inseattle) turn to set the Three Amigas Weekly Challenge. Black and white, with a bit of red. How fun! As soon as she announced what it would be, I thought of this. This card was screaming at me to be made, so I dropped my preparations for a workshop and made it. LOL! It's hard to see, but the main white sheet with the piercing also has leaves clear embossed on it. I used my Watercolor Vine Jumbo Wheel with VersaMark and clear embossing powder. This idea is also from Joanne. Joanne, you rock! Yes, it was a pain to cut out those little birds, but I really wanted the special effect...so worth it! We would love it if you'd like to play along. Just post your card on SCS and use TAWC in the key words. While you're at SCS, check out the wonderful Stampin' Up! gallery. All of the past and present stamp sets are listed there individually.Supplies: Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock. Branch Out stamp set. Basic Black and Real Red Classic Ink. Crafter's Tool Kit and the wonderful SU! paper snips.

A Project From Today's Workshop
Here's a "5 minutes" card that my customers made today at a totally-hands-on workshop. We stamped the purse, greeting, and shoes from Humor In High Heels in Lovely Lilac. The Fine Cosmo purple glitter was shaken on after drawing the bow of the purse with the 2-Way Glue Pen. We made dots on the scallop circle with the Signo White Gel Pen. This is such a fun stamp set. Supplies: Whisper White, Orchid Opulence, and Lovely Lilac cardstocks. Humor in High Heels stamp set. 1 1/4", 1 3/8", and Scallop Circle Punches, 2-Way Glue Pen, Fine Cosmo Glitter, Signo White Gel Pen.

Branching Out
This has to be one of my favorite new sets out of the new Stampin' Up! catalog. I love it! You can use different colors to get such unique layouts. This was my first attempt for a make & take at tomorrow's workshop, but it just wasn't quite right. I think I'm not satisfied any more with one background layer. It just doesn't look finished off. So...I tried again. This time, with a brain-blast idea for color combo, I tried again.
This is it! Hurray! Know that feeling when you make a card and inside, your brain is screaming "YES! That's it!"? Well that's the feeling I had as this one was coming together. It's still very simple, but I love the clean lines and simple colors. I stamped the butterflies twice each time, before reinking. (That's called stamping off.) I also stamped off the leaves to get two colors on the tree. Add a bit of sponging for the grass, some retired Hodgepodge antique brass and Kiwi Satin Ribbon, and we have the card for tomorrow's workshop! Woo Hoo!!!Thanks for visiting the Stamping Station.
Blessings,
Julie

Yummy Sale-A-Bration Swap Card
Here's a card featuring the SAB Delicate Dots Designer Paper, an accordian flower, and the SAB Yummy stamp set. I used the Top Note Bigz Die for both layers behind the accordian flower and cut on the perforation on the Designer Paper layer. (If you're left with some little rough tabs, sand them off with the SU! sanding block.) I used my markers to color the Yummy stamp with Celery and Bashful Blue before stamping on Whisper White cardstock. I hand cut around the stamp and then around the blue behind it. How do you make the accordian flower? For this size accordian, I used a 12" by 3/4" piece of DS paper and scored it every 1/4". After folding into an accordian, I attached both ends together. Make sure you let the adhesive dry at this point. After I figured out where my circle was going to be, I applied 2-Way glue in a circular shape, being generous with it, then placed the accordian on it and held it gently down while the glue dried. Didn't take long at all. For the center, I put two pop-up glue dots, one on top of the other, to hold the Yummy piece in place above the accordian.Supplies: Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Whisper White cardstock, Delicate Dots DP, Top Note Bigz Die, Yummy stamp set, Celery 5/8" grosgrain, 2-Way Glue Pen.

Sale-A-Bration! Sweet! Stems, that is!
Yummy! That's the SAB stamp set that the swirl and sentiment are from. SAB? Sale-A-Bration! Here's a card that I'm going to swap with. Hope the other demonstrators like it. I used Sweet Stems for the flower image and colored it in with marker. To finish it off, I gave it a hand drawn frame with my marker and used my color spritzer on the background. I used my crimper on the Lilac piece. I stamped the swirl in VersaMark and then Lilac, then down on the paper to emboss it with Clear EP. With Love was colored with markers and punched with the Word Window, then dotted with a marker. The background on the Pink Passion is the Sanded Background stamp. Add a few rhinestone brads, a bow attached with a mini glue dot and voila! Finished! Looks like a lot of work, but very simple. :-)Colors are White, Pink Passion, Lovely Lilac, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise.

Three Amigas and Color Combo Challenges
Here's a double challenge card! The Three Amigas challenge for this week was to use a layout that you can use at any time. For me it's the pic on the left, saying on the right. Very basic. Now throw in this week's color challenge of Caramel, Coral, and Olive and you have card! I was doubtful about this color combo at first, but it does seem to work! I stamped the dress from Humor in High Heels 3 times and cut out the dress and flower to paper piece it. For the frame, I used chipboard, covered it in classic Caramel (because I didn't have craft), then clear embossed it. If you'd like to play along with the Three Amigas, just make a card, post it online and then leave a comment here with the link. Or you can post it on SCS and type TAWC in the key words.
Supplies, Cameo, Olive, Caramel, White cardstock, Haiku Designer Paper, chipboard, clear embossing powder, Sizzix Tween Lattice texture plate
Thanks for stopping by the Stamping Station!
Blessings,
Julie
