Love That Finial Press Folder!

Oh yeah! See that great embossing pattern in the back- ground? That's the Finial Press embossing folder from Stampin' Up! This first card was from a workshop where the hostess requested an Easter card. The tulip basket image is from A Flower for All Seasons, a set that I received free as a Sale-A-Bration reward. I just love FREE!
And here is the same card that we made at the next workshop with a ribbon added and switched into a birthday card. The DSP is from the Sale-A-Bration pack. The birthday greeting is from the new set Well Scripted...isn't it gorgeous?! I punched it out with my wide oval punch and the frame behind is was punched out with my Big Shot and Lots of Tags sizzlits. I just love how Stampin' Up! coordinates their accessories.

Owl For You

Long time, no post! Sorry about that. Life has been so crazy busy!

This card is one that we made at two workshops this month. I really like it! It's a combo inspiration card from Julie Davison and Georgeann Manning. It just required the 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", and 1 3/8" circle punches and the Extra Large Two Step Bird punch. The owl is from Forest Friends (free with a SAB order) and the greeting is from All Holidays. A bit of paper piercing at the bottom finishes off this very simple card.

A Little of This...A Little of That...

Yes, this does look like a late Valentine's card, but it's going to be my husband's anniversary card. Do you think this will be ok for our anniversary? I just love the bird image and the pretty polka dots. The vellum heart was made with the Heart of Hearts Embosslit and the heart behind it was punched with the Full Heart punch. The Polka Dot Texture Folder and Rose Red Grosgrain finish off this simple project.
I love to play with my new supplies...this is my second try with the Tulipe Bigz Die. I put a little Dazzling Diamonds on some areas and stamped the corners with the flourish from Tiny Tags.







And after making that card, I thought I'd try it with the Tulipe stamped first with Bella Toile. Everything else is the same. Even though it's a bit of work to get all of the pieces glued on, I really love the end result.

New Swaps....I Love It!

I've joined a new swap group that I'm SUPER excited about! First of all, I love to swap and get new ideas to show my stamping friends. Second, this is with some of my blogging buddies and some sidelines of mine. I have received a couple back so far. I promise to show you what I've received when I get them. In fact, I can hardly wait to show you!


This is the first card that I sent in for the swap. The theme was Spring. I don't usually use oranges (as I think I've shared with you before...) but adding the Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Dusty Durango, and Always Artichoke definitely helped me with the Pumpkin Pie. I just love that little frog on the A Flower For All Seasons stamp. Some of this was colored with and Aqua Painter and ink from the lids of the ink pads and some of the image is colored straight with my Stampin' Write Markers. The "hello" tag was made with my Tiny Tags stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. All of the layers on the main image are lifted up with dimensionals. It's such a fun effect...I love the way it lifts up the image from the card.


I had a lot of fun with this card. I'm not much of a pink person either. Not unless the pink has some personality, that is. Well, I love this Sending Love Specialty DSP from the Occasions Mini Catalog. The sparkle really gets me every time! :-) The beautiful satin ribbon is also from the Occasions Mini. The layout is based on a card that I saw on my wonderful friend Joanne's website Sleepy In Seattle. Since we had a Spring theme, I used the gorgeous Greenhouse Garden stamp set. The flowers in the background are stamped off so that they look faded and provide an appropriate background look. The main flower was stamped in Pretty in Pink and the flower veins were stamped in Cameo Coral. I then used my Crystal Effects to draw the veins and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter for a 3-D glitter effect that matches the DSP. See those cute little rhinestones? They're from our Eggcellent Eggs decorating kit in the Occasions Mini. Love it!

It's the Breast Cancer Ribbon....

I'm sorry that this is a bit hard to see. I really played with the lighting and color on this one, but I couldn't quite catch the real thing. This is for a special woman in my life who was diagnosed with breast cancer this week. She'll be undergoing surgery next week and then radiation. I didn't want to just say "thinking of you" or "get well". Those seemed too trite. So I went with "love you much" because that said more of what I was feeling. The embossed flowers are from the Big Shot and the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Folder from Stampin' Up! The rhinestones are from the Eggcellent Eggs pack. (I love those things!!!!!) I punched out the greeting with my Designer Label Punch and the pink frame behind it was made with the Lots of Tags Sizzlit and the Big Shot. Have I mentioned lately how much I love the Big Shot??? The Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon was made with Pretty in Pink 1/4" Grosgrain. I also textured the inside on the upper right corner to match, but didn't get a photo of it.

Moss and Eggplant Sympathy

I totally forgot to crop this one... sorry about that. but I need to get back to the cookies that I'm baking. I LOVE the smell of baking chocolate chip cookies! Now that I've made you hungry, let's share the card for today.
Unfortunately, I had need of a sympathy card. One of the sons of our former pastor passed away and so I need to send this to them. I used the flower spray from Thoughts and Prayers
and my Elegant Eggplant and Mellow Moss Stampin' Write markers to color it. The DSP is Autumn Traditions. I used the Scallop Trim Corner and Edge punches. A bit of 1/4" Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain is tied in a knot and attached with a Mini Glue Dot. I know that a card can't do much, but it will let them know that we're thinking about them and praying for them. Isn't that why we make and send cards anyway...to let people know that our thoughts are with them and to hopefully make them feel special? At least, that is what I hope it makes them feel.

This Shamrock Is All Heart

:-) Sorry for the corny pun, but couldn't resist. This is a quick and easy Hands On project from the last workshop. We punched hearts with the Full Heart punch and glued them on the background white after stamping the stem from Greenhouse Garden in Glorious Green. The center "shamrock" is the small flower from Greenhouse Garden. Teeny Tiny Wishes has the BEST selection of events and that's where we found this great St. Patty's Day greeting. After punching it with the large oval, we sponged the edges with ink, punched out a green scallop oval and decorated the scallop oval with some dots from a white gel pen. Super simple and very fun!

These Used to Be Valentine Cards???

Yes, these are the cards that yesterday's Valentine card morphed into. What do you think? On this card, I flipped the DSP over to the chocolate side and have the negative side of the flower background. I liked that look...seemed to go well with the flowers on the DSP.
This card has the original side of the DSP, but the flower background is showing the positive side. The stamp set is Flower Fancy. I really love that set! The border is made with the Scallop Trim Border punch from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Isn't that a pretty edge?

Morphed Cards...They're Morphing Again????

This card was really fun. We made it on our Feb. 4th workshop at Bri's. This card was based on my blogging buddy Carrie's swap card that I received. I loved hers, but had to simplify it a bit so that we could get through 5 projects in one evening. I like Carrie's card better, but this one is ok, too. I love the way the Heart of Hearts embosslit coordinates so well with the Pinking Hearts border punch. The DSP is wonderfully sparkly.
We had some left over supplies from this workshop, so I made them into thank you's. Come back tomorrow so that you can see how this Valentine card morphed into a thank you card.

January Hands On Projects

Sorry about the delay in posting. Seems that life is crazy right now! We had a total of 6 hands on projects in January. You've seen the oranges card already and the Easter card will be shown after March is over. Wanna see it? Schedule a March workshop! The red Valentine card was inspired by this card. I simplified it, so that it would make a good workshop card. I love the new Pinking Hearts Corner Punch and the With All My Heart stamp set, both from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.
I just love the bright pinks on this card. It was inspired by another card, but of course I can't find the original when I need it! grrrrr.... I combined Melon Mambo and Pink Passion for some similar pinks. I like mixing them because it adds depth. Well Scripted and the Scallop Trim Corner Punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog were used for this card.
Have you seen the Bride DSP in the Idea Book & Catalog? It's gorgeous! I love the patterns...there are 2 patterns and you get 5 sheets of each one. We stamped Wedding Sweet on it and then blotted off the ink that doesn't soak in on the shiny parts of the DSP. The Illuminated wheel and White Organza ribbon finish it off.
And finally, this is my sample of how to make a quick and simple kid's card. I stamped hello baby on one cloud (made with my Scallop Circle Punch). While sponging the edges of the clouds would have made it look even better, I was really trying to showcase a simple card.
